About

I fell in love with photography in 2002 in the streets of Zurich, Switzerland.

People often ask me what is your favorite thing to photograph. I have given many answers to that question over the years, but in reality there is one clear answer. My family. When I sit down and look thru the stack of 5x7 prints that fills an old cigar box next to my favorite chair it does something to me that almost nothing else does so quickly. Whatever pressures or anxieties about business are filling my mind, they are quickly removed when I see this photo of my daughter Eden learning to rider her bike, her brother pushing her down the road. Looking at the photos that I have taken of my wife and children remind me of how far we have come, how quickly we have grown up and in a very simple way they remind me of who we are and who I am. This is why I love to photograph. I get the opportunity to be a part of reminding people of who they are and why they do the things that they do everyday. I love to do that and I love the relationships that come out of that space.

When you take the time to tell someones story you learn their story. You get to know them and their vision, their heart, their family, their battles and the things that they value. I take photos that will be used to tell the story of their brand, but along the way I get to know the people. I get to watch young couples battle infertility and then experience the joy of photographing them with their newborn daughter years later. I take a portrait of a sales person in the throws of chemo treatment and then experience the fulfillment of photographing her a year later recovered and celebrating a decade with the company that she loves. I never know what the request is going to be for when the phone rings, but I love when it ends up going beyond just taking a few pretty pictures & I am thankful for all of the connections and relationships that have been birthed thru photography in my life.
